So it was that kind of weekend.
- A friend’s 3-day 40th bday celebration
- Weekend guests who come bearing gifts of sweets and treats (specifically chocolate and macarons – my biggest weaknesses!)
- Burgers and movies with the kiddos
Yup … a weekend full of decadent foods and alcohol – the perfect storm for days of overindulgences.
That was my story, but the truth is that it doesn’t have to be these “special occasions” that cause you to overeat. Maybe you’ve been good all week … you have a long commute everyday … your job or business is stressful … and darn it – you DESERVE a weekend full of pizza, wine and cheetos!
But then … here comes the Monday morning guilt. This is where a lot of women take drastic unnecessary action. They throw in the towel, stopping their healthy eating habits cold.
That’s the absolute worst thing that you can do.
Here’s the thing – major weight gain doesn’t happen in one weekend. It’s the indulgences of weekends over time that make a difference.
So the best thing that you can do is to make some minor adjustments. A moment on the lips does not have to equal a lifetime on the hips.
